President Obama signed the
Affordable Care Act into law in March 2010. The new health care law includes
historic gains for women's health and covers key preventive health services for
women such as an annual well woman exam, birth control, and mammograms as basic
health care, at no additional cost. Can communicating these new
preventive health services to women boost public support for the Obama
Administration's premiere domestic policy initiative? What are
communication strategies to shift the discussion on health care to a winning
one for progressives?
Quite
recently, the Communications Consortium Media Center (CCMC) - our Moving
Forward partner - with the Herndon Alliance and support from WDN’s Reproductive Rights Action Circle, funded Celinda Lake to do
polling on this very issue.
